SMTP Problem - pop before smtp

Hi! I have spent the last three days trying to figure this out.

I get the "SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host." error. My IMAP works for incoming mail.  Could this be due to my host using pop-before-SMTP?  Please help.

Re: SMTP Problem - pop before smtp

I have same problem and resolved this:

1. At 'emailadmin' create a profile with
    profile is active  (check)
users can define their own identities: (check)
Users can define their own email accounts: (check)
whithout details in 'SMTP' and 'IMAP'

2. On felamimail (mail) 'manage email accounts and identities' create a identity with 'use custum settings' (check) and fill data 'incoming mail server(IMAP)' and 'outgoing mail server(SMTP)' but uncheck 'authentication required' (it is important)

....

I hope this help you

So is it a bug?  Worked for me too, I just don't understand why it doesn't work from emailadmin?

Re: SMTP Problem - pop before smtp

I dont think that POP before SMTP is supported be EGroupware.

GMail does NOT use that and is fully working with EGroupware. GMail uses
SMTP vise SSL, so you have to use "ssl://hostname" instead of "hostname"
in EMailAdmin.
